When I had a chance to visit my brother
in Manila, I made a trade-off between my part-time job offer over the summer. I
always think of all the probable consequences, benefits and assumed the experiences
I could possibly get from the two choices before dropping my decision. There’s
no uncertainty that all of us need to make decision in many situations. Depend
on these circumstances we make either quick conclusion or intentional ones. But,
sometimes we have to make fast decisions and most of time they are right. Of
course it takes us a lot of time to think before we can build any thought about
things that might affect our lives. So in the end I cancelled my job offer to
have an entire summer vacation with my eldest brother. I don’t wanna stuck and stress myself working
the whole summer though I really need the money but I just have to give it up,
family is more important to me it’s just that a lot of things happens in such a
wrong time.
Decision making depends on
the situation that we deal with and always make sure that you get the best out
of it.
Another
trade-off, sometimes in our lives when we decide matters in a way that involves
your heart as well as your mind, we fit into place our spirituality. Most of us
run from a kind of "holy self-centeredness" when making
decisions that we often think those choices are right for ourselves.
Once I had
this relationship, an unacceptable type but for us, it’s the most wonderful.
We dearly loved each other but both of us were afraid of being discriminated. Either of us can be a hot topic once we are exposed so we kept our
relationship as a secret but then rumors are starting to knock the doors. We don’t
have any choice back then but to end up this wrong relationship and give up our own
happiness just for us to save our reputation and escape from a terrifying scandal.
Sometimes you just have to let go of the things that makes you happy in order
for you to grow stronger and be a more wonderful person. We live in a wonderful
world, where a truly good choice you can make is not just for your own sake,
but for all those who will be affected by what we do or say. From this point of
view, we can be acquainted with the experience of peace as pronouncement from
God about what we - with all our borders - determine in our present conditions
to be the better decision.
